Self-drive everywhere except night game drives, which are guided-only inside national parks.
June to November along the Overberg coast, peaking in September at Hermanus.
It is an inconvenience. Most lodges run inverters or generators.
What the brochures leave out.
- Fill up before Kruger gates β camps sell out of fuel.
- Book rest camps months ahead for school holidays.
- Load-shedding schedules affect small towns; carry a power bank.
